In all seriousness, this thing is supposed to make it around the moon and back and all the way to mars. I gotta say for those specs, i thought it's be a lot bigger.

can someone do a comparison between this and a nasa space shuttle?

yah this thing is only going to hop a coupple km up into the air or so. just a test vehicle to make sure the shape is good and all that, but still cool

This is not Starship. This is the starship version of Grasshopper (many call it "starhopper"). This will not fly higher than a few km and is certainly not spaceworthy.

 

The design has plenty of time to change (we already know that starhopper is shorter than Starship will be). For reference, this is the grasshopper prototype vs a finished falcon 9:

Starship is also only the second stage of the rocket; Super Heavy is the booster and is much taller than even the finished Starship, making the final rocket taller than the Saturn V.

Initial missions are to at least go around the moon, then eventually colonize mars. Very fast P2P on earth has also been thrown around.

This is the final width (9m) just not the final height, so it's a shorter version, not intended for space.

Looks like it was designed in 10 minutes. Musk's kid drew a picture of what a rocket looks like and he took it to his designers and said "build this".

It's just a mock-up sort of that is just ment for testing.

It's a test build. It's only there to test the engines and control computers etc [They will test a small flight of it]... the real thing will have windows, unless it's too difficult to fit them.

Hmmm... I wonder how they'll store enough fuel to make it all the way to mars and, more importantly, back. The Saturn V was over twice as tall and still had barely enough fuel to make it to the moon and back, and that's without 95% of the original rocket. I'm sure rocket technology and efficiency is much better now, but still...
