How to get PS4 and PC audio with HyperX Cloud Alpha Gaming Headset?

Vasto7

As the title says. I want to be able to receive audio from both the PC and PS4 on one headset. Am I able to do this with the chords the headset came with? Or do I have to purchase a mixamp? And if a mixamp, which one?
I want to be able to listen to music and hear Twitch alerts from PC while also being able to hear my gameplay from the same headset with the same crisp audio quality this headset has.

I have a similar setup, Using a laptop for discord (due to my PC lacking a mic) and a PC for gaming.

If you can find a device that pulls 3.5mm audio from a HDMI signal (while passing through HDCP) or don't mind having a long aux cable from your controller, then you can plug into the line in port on the back of a desktop computer, Then plug the headphones into your PC, You will receive audio from both sources (If you don't, Ensure you have enabled "Listen to this device" for line in on windows)

So would I need an AUX cable and not use any of the cables the headset came with?

You need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable, Probably a long one when you take your use into account.

I haven't personally noticed an audio quality change from my setup, If anything it'll give you the ability to EQ and change volume.

If I purchase the 3.5mm cable, how do I set it up correctly?

Run your aux cable from your PS4 controller to your PC's Line In port, It should automatically play through whatever audio device is connected to your PC.
If not:

Right click on the sound icon.

Click on sounds.

Click on Recording.

Try playing some sound and test if the green bar on the right shows activity.

If it doesn't, Check that you are plugging into the LINE IN port on the back of your PC.

If it does but you still don't hear anything, Right click Line In.

Click Listen.

Now check that "Listen to this device" is checked and that the playback device is correct.

And just like that, I can get audio from both PC and PS4? Wow. Would I need to change any settings on my PS4?

If your PS4 is setup to already output audio via your controller then no settings will need to be changed (as a PC only person I don't know if this is automatic or not)

Are there any downsides to doing this? Would it affect anything streaming wise?

No, There is zero downsides to doing this, Other than the wire from your controller to your pc.

I have my headset connected to the monitor the PS4 is using. I'd still be able to pick up both audio sources despite the controller being the only thing connected to the PC?

No, You would need to connect your headset to your PC directly (front panel or otherwise)
Now that you say this, You could see if your monitor has PiP, Sometimes this will pass through audio (at the cost of a small amount of screen space)

I'm not sure how PiP works exactly. I'm fairly new to this subject so sorry if flooded with questions.

If you're confused, Your best bet is to stick with the aux method.

Hello again! I recently did everything correctly and as soon as I hear both audio sources I also ended up picking up this weird buzzing sound. Is there anything I can do to remove that?

EDIT: I also hear a slight echo from PS4 gameplay.

Sounds like a ground loop, Get a ground loop isolator.
