Are gsync only monitors going to die?

I actually liked the higher quality of the gsync monitors with the modules as it has no range hassle and am ready to pay more for better quality so will they stop producing those? Will be a bummer if true.

Nah, even without Gsync they will still make monitors that are otherwise just as good. After all if there's demand, there will be supply. Previously high standard monitors without Gsync are super rare is simply because Gsync is pretty much a must for monitors that expensive.

I don't think they'd kill off the line. It seems like they are certifying the Vesa Adaptive Sync (FreeSync) monitors that meet the spec as G-Sync Compatible. This tells me that they might have the 'Official' G-Sync monitors maybe 'G-Sync Built in' or some ridiculous marketing term like that. It seems too much of a cash grab.

 

Meanwhile, ere I'm feeling like an idiot for having dropped $700+ on a 1440p Ultrawide with G-Sync a couple of months ago when I could've gotten away with a $430-ish monitor with similar specs but FreeSync instead.
