We ain't get 12 core parts, though.

They demo'd the 8 core part today. We know now that the Zen2 core is faster than Intel, and that's all that matters. We're looking at a mid 2019 launch, so at least you know now that Zen2 is going to be beast.

No one is set up for disappointment. And that's funny, because they're the only ones to have said so.

I'll see this thread after the keynote on Wednesday.

It is after the keynote. And guess what? Ryzen 3 was not launched. They only gave a vague "coming mid 2019" timeline, no SKU's, no pricing, and only vague benchmarks with an unspecified CPU at unspecified clock speed going up against a 9900K.

(...) They will say something like: "Ryzen 3000 desktop on 7nm is on track and coming fall 2019, will be 50% better in blablabla and show some meaningless graph". If you call that an "announcement", then sure. It is saying nothing that we don't already know.

Mark my words and feel free to point and laugh at me if I turn out to be wrong. But I doubt it.

Well, I rest my case. Like I said yesterday, if you call vague "coming soon" and meaningless benchmarks of an unspecified SKU and unspecified pricing an anouncement. Then yes, they announced it.

We know as much today as we did yesterday, being that Ryzen 3 is coming in MID- 2019. That is all we know still. The only bit of new information is MID 2019, which is still really vague ( I thought it was going to be fall)

Yes, I watched the keynote. I didn't say you'd be able to purchase those CPUs the moment after the keynote. Yes, I consider the ample information we received today to be a launch. with availability to follow. We're not having a discussion about these processors, however. You, just like most other forum members here, are just pointing out nit-picking points and bitching about verbiage.

I'm here to discuss the tech. Not listen to someone be a bitch about the ANNOUNCEMENT of the Zen2 core.

Alright man, if you say so. Enjoy your launch.

my 9900k cracks 2200 on cinebench, but no idea how zen 2 oc, i'm just gonna assume they are equal at least with an edge to amd, time to wait for them to announce a 16core part, if so i'm doing a new build.

Radeon VII has been announced. AMD benchmarks state that it MATCHES or BEATS a 2080.

AMD is being slightly cheeky comparing their Vega update with an RTX 2080.  If their benchmarks are accurate and comparible with all games the Radeon 7 has around the same performance as a 1080ti.  It should have never been compared to a RTX 2080 since the Radeon 7 does not have tensor or RT cores.

It wasn't mentioned in your post, but the price announced doesn't really mean anything since AMD doesn't sell video cards directly to consumers.  AMD's AIB's and vendors will be setting the price. So just like Vega these cards could initially sell at MSRP and once they sell out their price may sky rocket again.  If they had a hard time producing the memory and GPU's for Vega 1st Gen in sufficient numbers to keep up with demand, what's to say it won't be the same thing all over again?

Finally these are benchmarks are from AMD, they should be taken with a grain of salt just like benchmarks paid for by intel.

We saw the 9900k get slightly beaten in one single benchmark.   I would hope a new CPU would be better than an old one.  Without an actual product or third party reviews I wouldn't make any claims on what's better.  I hope it's good, but it's way too early to form an opinion.
