Help with Air-Cooler for Ryzen.

Mr.Mago

I'm planning on buying an Air-Cooler for a r7 2700x, as I'm not very confident about AIOs. Will this cooler be enough ? do you recommend me a different one?,If so my budget is 60€ max.

Also I wanted to know if the same cooler could work and be as efficient working on the future r7 3700x.. (I know it's not out yet, just pure speculation)

A future r7 3700 should still be AM4 and the same cooler should work.

The Hyper 212 LED Turbo performs alright but isn't very quiet and often not well-priced. What kind of price are you looking at? Can you link us to where you're shopping?

What case and ram are you using?

A great cooler but keep in mind that you need to order an additional AM4 mounting kit from Scythe.

If you want a cooler that comes ready for AM4 out of the box, a good alternative is the Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition: https://es.pcpartpicker.com/product/hHDJ7P/cooler-master-hyper-212-rgb-black-edition-573-cfm-cpu-cooler-rr-212s-20pc-r1

It's the best of the Hyper 212's and better than the Freezer 33.

Here's an example of the BE performing a bit better than a Freezer 33 eSports and similarly to the Dark Rock 4: https://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/cooler_master_hyper_212_black_edition_review,8.html

A bit better than a H7 Quad Lumi but worse than a Dark Rock 4 / Shadow Rock Slim here: http://www.comptoir-hardware.com/articles/refroidissement/37575-test-cooler-master-hyper-212-black-edition.html?start=3

A bit better than a H7 Quad Lumi and similar to a NH-U12S here: https://www.eteknix.com/cooler-master-hyper-212-black-edition-review/5/

These are examples of the BE and not the RGB BE which is slightly better.

https://proclockers.com/reviews/cooling/cooler-master-hyper-212-black-edition-cpu-cooler-review/page/0/5

The RGB BE's performance is between a Kotetsu MKII and Sirocco RGB here: https://www.techgaming.nl/review-cooler-master-hyper-212-rgb-black-edition/
