Monitor Mounts - Anyone have experience?

So I see on the neweggs that these two are available for $30:

And I'm curious if anyone has experience with either? I want to mount a 25" Ultrawide to it and rotate it 90 degrees.

 

I've never purchased an aftermarket monitor mount before and have no idea what to look out for when shopping for one.

I think I prefer the idea of a pole I can screw to the desk and then hang the arms off of that but I can't seem to figure out where to purchase the poles and then which arm mounts are compatible with it.

 

Any tips? Advice? TY. GG.

You buy them all at once, you don't buy the pieces individually.

Do you already have the monitor? Does it have VESA mounts?
