500W PSU w/ r9 290x

Hi, so I have a great deal on a 290x but the PSU in my system is only 500w, will I be able to get away with that? The CPU I'm currently using is a I7 4790 which has a TDP of 84 watts. Thanks!

barry enough, r9 290x 290W while in furmark. when overclocking, 365W on furmark.

consider that.

PSU: duo 700w server powersupply

Youll make it.........  If you don't get BSOD's after using it when you first get it then your set.  You are probably using 400 watt max on that rig, and that is max.. full work load both cpu and gpu ,,,,,,,  You will make it but on your next future video card upgrade youll need to swap out that PSU at that time.
