Z390 x16/x16 options

Im looking to upgrade my system and am looking at getting a 9900k.  I currently am running a 2080ti though will want to add a second one.

What motherboard options for the z390 currently offer x16/x16

I know the msi godlike does but not sure I really want to purchase another 600$ motherboard again like my asus rampage v extreme.

Thanks.

You have 0 options for x16/x16 on the 9900K since it only has 16 PCIe lanes.

You would drop to x8/x8 if you put two 2080Ti cards in any board, or you would end up going through the PCH lanes which, iirc, are connected via a PLX chip at only x4 to the CPU.

The 9900k only has 16 PCIe lanes for the GPU config, so I'm pretty sure you'll just have to run both cards in x8, which won't really cap your performance at all.

eventually, they'll be a high-ended board with a plex generator for lane assignments, but with the advent of fewer multi-card configs, x16 bandwidth just isn't saturated enough at x8.

thinking the titan v neared capacity, but not a critical move at this time.

x8/x8 is fine for desktop. otherwise if you have to have x16/x16 then a platform change is needed.

the maximus hero xi has a shitty VRM. Its not so bad that Asus should stop selling the board, but its pretty bad compared to its competition. You don't have to stick with Asus, I recommend the Gigabyte Z390 boards, they have the best overclocking out of all the Z390 boards. The Aorus Master looks pretty cool IMO. I have the Aorus Pro and love it.
