PCI-E power is either 6-pin or 8-pin.

Usually it is a 6-pin connector with a 2-pin one almost stuck to it so you can plug it in either a 6-pin PCI-E connector or an 8-pin PCI-E connector.

Then you need to connect the power cables labeled PCIe that have 6 and 8(6+2) pins on them into the GPU, after you power down the system.

You also ONLY use that garbage molex adapter if you absolutely do not have the necessary PCIe power cables.

But whatever is plugged into that adapter is not a molex plug, they don't have a hook to secure it and whatever is in that has a hook so that's not right.

I figured it out, remove the adapter and plug in the cable that you connected to the adapter straight into the graphics card.

Huh. So either OP has a bad psu with no pcie power, or he is using some sort of unnecessary adapter

Yea the adapter is not needed, he needs to plug in that cable straight into the graphics card without the adapter, it's a 6+2 connector so it's fine.

But that would only populate one of the PCIe power ports on the card. From what I can see in the fuzzy video the one he has is most likely a GPu that needs a 6 and 8 pin cable

Does your psu come with a second pcie power cable? If it does, unplug the adapter and use both the pcie power cables to power the gpu

Well it has a daisy-chained 2nd connector to it so it should be fine.

We know that the one connector is a 6+2 and there are 2 cables coming out of it, so there is a 2nd connector, because a 6-pin is enough it's fine if it's not another 6+2 but only a 6-pin.

Remove all those adapters and use the cable you used to whack into the adapter but whack them straight into the graphics card.

You don't need the adapters. That one cable with connectors will be exactly what you need.
