HELP! RGB RAM Defective?

Go to solution Solved by Wufflez,

I'd clean the gold contacts on the DIMM. If that doesn't do anything, I'd RMA it.

Hello,

I paired a ryzen 2600 with an Asrock X470 Master SLI/AC AM4 mobo and Gskill RGB RAM (2x8gb 3200 mhz Model F4-3200C16D-16GTZR).

One of the ram sticks is not lighting up and is not recognized by the mobo.  I tried reseating and switching around to another slot.  Also tried a BIOS update.  Anything else I should try before I RMA?

Thanks for the help.

Thank you for the advice.  I tried cleaning the gold contacts with isopropyl alcohol on both sticks of RAM and I am not sure if I did it wrong, but now both sticks wont work. ?  Neither stick lights up at boot and the system restarts continuously after about 10 seconds.

EDIT: I got both of them working... apparently I did not slot them fully several times... Thank you for your help!
