GF63 or Y530

Hi !

I'm trying to figure out which laptop I should choose between these two:

The Y530 would have a i5 8300h, GTX 1050 4gb, 256gb ssd 8gb of RAM, and it costs about 1130$ CAD.

The GF63 would have a i7 8750h, GTX 1050ti 4gb, 1tb HDD with 16gb Intel Optane, 8gb of RAM, and it costs 1190$ CAD (1090$ with the 100$ mail-in rebate)

I've already ordered the GF63, but I will get a refund if the Y530 is a better choice.

I've heard that the GF63 tends to overheat a lot, and that it's build quality is pretty bad. I also prefer the Y530's look, and I need an SSD.

I plan on using my laptop for school and some light gaming on the go (LoL, Darwin's Project, MW2). I already have a gaming PC.

Thanks for your help !

So do you think giving up on the GF63 (and his better GPU and CPU) would be a better choice, even if the price of the Y530 is pretty much the same as the GF63?

imo, even throttled GF63 is faster than Y530 in most case. and consider how often you put laptop under load till it throttles

(most 8750h laptops overheats)

I also see people do undervolt to keep temps low

1200$ CAD tax included.

Not too heavy and an OK battery life since i'll mostly use it for school.

GF63 is normally 1500$ CAD + tax and shipping

Y530 is normally 1250 $ + tax and shipping

I did not find better deals than these two laptops.

3kg more or less (I dont want something too thick. Weight isn't really a concern)

About 5 hours of battery on Youtube/MS Word.

Thanks for you suggestions.

I had blacklight bleeding problems with my previous Asus laptops, but i'll still look into it.
