May I ask a semi un-related question here, why does Linus always have a sweater on? Are the offices kept a little chilly at the LMG building?

im just looking at the thumbnail and i already think i can make this faster. throw a water loop at it for OCs, delid the 9900K for more OCs, diffrent case for more watercooling options and better overclocking RAM.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I can imagine the studio would be somewhat chilly there now, seeing as Vancouver is near freezing temps (about 4 C now), plus heating such a big studio seems like it would be difficult. Especially the warehouse.

Plus there are people that just always wear long sleeved shirts, no matter what.. So maybe Linus is one of those people :)

Also, holy heck.. That is some pretty RAM. It does fit together with that gold keycap set from a couple years ago.

And more videos with Ivan! Yay!

It's cool up north in Canada

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

More clickbait title work. It is a nice PC and it will be a great performer, but the "Best money can buy" I think not. First off this is air cooled which will not out perform a full custom loop or since we are talking best money can buy a chiller setup. Then you have that big case with tons of empty space lol... just looks... sad.

I know Be Quiet is the sponsor and all so why the 1kw psu instead of the 1.2kw? Do the two 2080 Ti hit the sweet spot for the 1kw psu?

Big mistake going with 960 or 970 pros.

An intel 905P would have made a much bigger difference in performance.

NVME is only better than sata SSDs in stuff like large file transfers.

Optane has slightly lower sequential speeds but the random speeds, iops, latency, and pretty much everything else is much faster, and those are the things that affect the user experience most.

Tasks like opening programs, loading thumbnails, searching for files, etc. hugely benefit from 3dxpoint.

Well going with 1.2kw won't make it faster, so... I don't think it really matters.

Going with titan RTXs instead of 2080tis would have made it faster though.

Welcome (almost) to the 1% club. Sad you did not make it - but, honestly, i expected a lot more from the Asus ROG 2080Ti's, i mean - with two 2080Ti's Founder Edition i'm breaking over 13k on the 3DMark easily - i thought that the ROG will boost the power limit (just as EVGA did) and these cards will OC better than mine. That just doesn't feel right.

Main System: 2 x Intel Xeon Platinum 8268, 384GB DDR4 2933 ECC, 2 x NVidia 2080 Ti FE, 2 x Samsung Enterprise 3.2TB NVME PCIe Gen.3x8 SSD, custom water cooling.

Jake and Alex aren't bad but, Ivan's jokes are on point and are on the same level as Linus' jokes.

Really bad basically :D

It has to do with mass and surface area.

The more mass a person has the lower the surface area to mass ratio.

So tiny little people lose heat quicker.

To be honest you might say it was in the 2% but that is just off the scale for me. Maybe it's just me with my old crappy Dell xps just cant afford a new computer and mine struggles with most titles at the lowest settings lol.
