Egpu - is this an 'external display'???

Hi all.

I am buying a HP envy 27-b all in one. It contains a hdmi out and hdmi in port. The all in one includes a 4k display that is obviously integrated to the computer.

I have read to minimise framerate loss when using an egpu you should use an external display.

Does this mean if i plug it into the hdmi in port it would be an external display and hence minimal framerate loss?
Thank you

Thanks. I dont have the computer right now, getting it on Monday. That would be a massive shame if it doesn't work.

A egpu is a external graphics card I think
