USB 3.1 G1 and G2

Hi! Im new here, sorry if this not the correct thread.

 

So I built new cumputer and the frontpanel USB 3.1 isn't working.

 

I looked it up, and the frontpanel USB is 3.1 G2 with USB-C aswell and the motherboard supports only G1.

 

Is this the reason it not working? I thought it would still work but only with G1 speed. Am I wrong?
