i9-9900k with Z370-E Need Help

dragonxt

So, I tried powering on my PC with a 9900k and a z370 Mobo, but I wasn't getting any error lights or video signal. Tech support is confused and said I should just return it. Ram and gpu works fine.

Is this because I need to update the bios for the new cpu? Or would an error light show up for that problem.

As stated above, you need CPU that works with Z370 out of the box to do a Bios update.  You won't get any errors when trying to boot newer chip on old bios.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus ROG Strix B650E / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Powercolor RX 7900 XTX Red Devil/ EVGA 750W GQ / NZXT H5 Flow

Alright thanks. FYI Asus mobos are capable of bios updates without a CPU installed :)
