Yeah nobody else got those results so I think either something is wrong with one or both of his cards - or he was comparing things in a weird way.

 

If you look at his video where he shows the 2080Ti having 10fps higher - the temps on the 2080Ti are WAY lower than the Titan so I can only guess he was looking at 2080Ti footage during his cooled-card runs, which is not at all a fair comparison with a stock card.

 

I'm gonna shunt mod one of these Titans now to start testing what resistor values will work without tripping safe mode, once I figure that out I'll get the other one modded and install the water blocks.

I wonder if it's a resolution thing.  Here's one example of it working better than a pair of 2080Ti cards.  The video maker did super-sampling to bring the resolution up to 8K.

 

 

And remember when you're watching that, it's in 8K...  so even 1FPS increase is quite substantial!

finally got shunt swap tested - with the 3MO shunt resistors, it boosts to ~ 1900 mhz (was sitting between 1870-1920 for a Timespy run). All stock settings.

 

Memory boosted to 7001mhz.

 

I think this is safe to say that it's not going into safe mode. Time to mod the other card and put these bad boys on water.

It's both a joke and in reference to the Crysis game.  It's been a long-running to ask someone when they build up a new rig, "Yeah, but can it run Crysis?!"  Crysis was always the widow-maker of a game when it first came out.  It would take the most powerful PC available and make it cry (along with its owner).

 

At this point, it's little more than a "meme" (God I hate that fucking word).

Yes Yes I remember,,,, the Crysis fad lol  What video card did we all have back then ?  I don't even freakin remember

 

Can it really run Far Cry 5 @ 8k resolution with some blur, no monitor blur not motion blur lol,,,,,,,,, no but honestly well say 4k res,, @ 144fps everything maxed out in nvpanel and everything maxed out in game.  Can it reach 144fps to give you to immersive life like gaming experience...

lmao, Crysis 3 dude go for it,, were aiming for 144fps at all times @ 4k res nv panel maxed out and game settings maxed out,,,,, can it drive 144fps .. that is the real question here. and a valid one at that...

my motherboard finally dried off so I did a quick Timespy run to compare the old shunt-resistor-stacked and overclocked Titan Xp SLI setup with these shunt-resistor-swapped stock-settings Titan RTX cards. I have not yet actually OC'd the CPU keep in mind...

 

Titan Xp SLI (stacked 5MO input shunt resistors so ~ 2.5MO effective, OC core at 2025 mhz, mem 1520 mhz)

 

and Titan RTX NVLink SLI shunt resistor swapped (replaced 5MO with 3MO), stock settings:

He said that he had worse performance than his 2080 Tis in a chiller. That cooling setup makes all the difference

Maybe... didn't tighten one of the screws on the waterblock bridge enough so as soon as I started filling the loop (with an external PSU of course) green water leaked all over the 2nd card and motherboard... as well as everything below the PC.

Oh sure, I need to finish do cable management and still waiting for the graphics cards PCI-E cables to arrive from CableMod. 
 

Hmm to be honest I mostly just wanted to see what they're capable of. I don't have a lot of free time these days so when I can sit down and use this thing I just want it to be complete and utter overkill for anything I could dream of throwing at it.

Chassis1 is the two 140mm 2000rpm iPPC NF-A14 PWM fans on the back (bottom is intake, top is exhaust)

Chassis2 and Chassis3 are 200mm NF-A20 PWM fans on the front as intake

Water Pump is the D5 PWM pump, I have it set I think at 40%, 70% and 100% for 25c 35c and 45c (based on water temp sensor input)

High Amp Fan is all 8 120mm 2000rpm iPPC NF-F12 PWM fans on the radiators (push config, exhausting out the top) and the 2 on the floor as intake.

 

Fans are set to Normal profile in the BIOS.

 

The old cards are sitting on a dresser waiting to be listed on eBay next weekend since I have no use for them (other rig has a Titan V on water, and 3rd 'gaming capable' PC is fine with its 1070 on air.

To be fair, it hasn't been funny for literally a decade. It's just something people like to spam. It's like a dad joke, because the person telling it is the only one who doesn't get that it's not funny anymore.

Nice work OP.  Not going to lie, when I got my 2080ti I redownloaded Crysis 3.  Still can't hold 100fps @ 3440x1440 if I crank the AA all the way up...lol.

How does the CPU hold up, and what do you have? That's still a bottleneck on Crysis 1, as it only uses one core and was designed with the idea that we'd have much higher single thread performance these days.
