No. the T3500 is an intel Xeon based platform. It would require a full motherboard and RAM upgrade to work to go along with the CPU change.

ok i have 12 gb of ddr3 ram and what motherboard would i need ?

You need to get DDR4 RAM and a motherboard with a B350 or X370 chipset. That Dell case might use a special form factor though, so the new motherboard might not even fit.

welcome to the Linus Tech Tips forums!

you'll need to do a severe platform change.

CPU

motherboard

RAM

possibly a PSU. prolly bet to not savage that tower, but save for a new PC tower build.

You'll most likely need to upgrade your case and PSU, too.

What is your budget and do you plan on using a CPU with integrated graphics? (in which the 1700 will not work, you will need the 2400G or 2200G which are worse models). What country do you live in (since US prices will be vastly different from UK prices, for example).
