Is there a way I can connect my connect my USB 3.1 gen 2 directly to a USB 3.1 gen 1

So I bought myself a new Case (Corsair Obsidian 500D) since I didn't like my old one anymore and the new one has a Type C connector in front. My Mainboard (Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon) doesn't have a 3.1 gen 2 connector tho... I've seen a lot of people using these ugly pci e cards for their front panels but tbh I would rather leave the type c unfunctional than put some other pci card in there. So is there a direct adapter/converter since as I understood it should basically just lower the performance of the type c port from 10gb/s to 5gb/s?

Yes... It's pretty expensive ... Do you know of any type that's more affordable? My budget is not really built for $50 just for an adapter... But if that's it thank you a lot.

I've looked for these adapters a lot, and there are VERY few of them on the market (most are the other way around) or are for PCI-E integration. It;'s a relatively niche product so it's gonna be kinda expensive.
