I guess that works but I was thinking of a way to do so without having to get into shotgun range of the thing. Birdshot doesn't go super far so you would have to get fairly close.

There actually official drone races, folks that fish with them, drone capture hunts, etc.  The official races are actually kind of neat to watch as they will at times show footage from the view of the drone.

A good shotgun can reach put pretty far for bird hunting.

It could totally work. But why not just use a very focused emp? If it's weak enough and focused enough, I don't see any interference problems with radio's or anything like that.

I know how far a good shotgun can go. The problem is you are taking about an airport which is huge so you would have to drive someone still fairly close especially if they take the drone high into the sky.

Duct tape some Mossberg 930s to a P51. Problem solved.

You get past a football field away you are going to have a hard time taking the thing down especially if it is high up.

They've had anti-drone tech for a while. You just don't see it out in public, though the Net Launcher versions are sort of hilarious.

 

Something seems fishy about all of this, however. They should have been able to track them down real fast.

Most people use them for legit businesses or just general fun, not just to annoy/spy on other people.

7.62mm machine guns arent very american. they use .50cals.

dont worry, the tracer will blind everyone and everything. Since they are wingmounted you also have a nice wide spray of them

And that would be the times when you get a license to have one. Not saying people shouldn't be able to use them period but to allow anyone to use them is just dumb. Even if they banned them for recreational use I would be fine with that.

Don't forget that they are also being used in the area I'm in for searching for lost hikers with several success stories of hikers being found thanks to the drone's capabilities of searching such wide areas quickly.

It's the second busiest airport in the UK. Which would make it one of Europe's busiest.

 

I can't read the full article because paywall, so I'm not sure if the source itself claimed that Gatwick was "London Airport" or not. It serves London, but it's in Crawley, which is about 30 miles south of London.
