how do I get the Windows 1809 update?

My Surface Pro 2 updated to 1809, I'm loving the dark theme... but both of my stupid desktops are stuck on 1803.  when I click on the check for updates thing it says everything is up to date.  I had an updated just now that required a restart, I got all excited thinking it was finally 1809, but nooo... still the stupid 1803

1809 is plagued with issue and Microsoft is slow to roll it out on most desktop devices for that reason. 1803 is far more stable, I wouldn't be too excited about 1809, many early users have described their systems severely slowing down, disk reading issues, lost/corrupt files and more. 1809 was supposed to be an October update but they continue to work on it.

well I know that part, but they re-released it in november saying the issues were fixed?  is that not the case for the re-release?

The re-release was still problematic, Microsoft hasn't even announced the re-re-release date yet.

Im on the OCT update but so far it's been stable. Partly due to a clean install.

Completely wrong. The OS is release to all. If you cannot have it yet, then your system is not compatible, plain and simple.

• Make sure all your software are fully updated
• Make sure you have the latest drivers installed.

You can see where you have blocks in place to not get the update, until the issue is resolved, either Microsoft fix it, or the software/driver maker fixes it and you update (depending on the issue)
