For HDMI 1.3 and 1.4, at what refresh rate can they display 1080p resolution?

My GTX 970 says it suports HDMI 2.0. Does that mean I cannot use 1.3 or 1.4?

So I have an HDMI 1.3 or 1.4 (I'm not fully sure) cable but my GTX 970 says it supports HDMI 2.0. Does that mean it ONLY supports HDMI 2.0 or can I use something lower like 1.3/1.4?

If your GTX 970 says it will support HDMI 2.0, it will support 1.3 and 1.4 since it is backwards compatible.
