PC can see disk but can't access

hello everyone,

excuse me for my bad English

so yesterday I got a box of tech for around 70bucks

it had an hd 5850

2gb ddr3 ram

thermaltake 450 semi modular psu

and the main dish is an MSI P55 GD65 with an I7 860

after the hassle and hours of trying to get it to POST

I can reach the bios

but when I try to install windows on my HDD or use  a drive with windows 10/7

it can be detected by the bios

but I can't access it

if the hdd has windows it will show an error like 0x0000001

or when I try to install a fresh copy of windows I get to the partition menu and when I try to make a new one

I get an error saying that I can't install windows on the drive because the hardwere is preventing from doing so and tells me to check the bios

I tried all the 7 sata slots and same results

I appreciate any assistance provided

Is this your (existing) drive, or something you got with the used box of tech?

its my hdd I've used it before and its butter

its indeed formated

Try something like Ubuntu or Mint, see if it gives you a more detailed error, or installs without a problem

I grabbed a ps4 hdd that I had with windows 10 on and now it booted to windows fine

I'm starting to lose my fucking Mind

that aside from the fact that if a tried to get the mobo it wont work

it freaks out

but thanks for the suggestion

Hang on a second, your original hard drive..how big is it?
