help me pick / recommend external hdd enclosure

2018amdbuild

Hi there, Im using the b450 motherboard and currently don't have a USB to update my BIOS (hopefully arrives this week), which i'm hoping will fix the issues i'm having with my mobo not detecting my hdd's, it is currently disabling all the ports it should allow and allowing the ports it shouldn't but the hdd's don't appear on either group of sata ports. Im' considering hooking up the hdd's externally via usb as at least those work - I need these hdd's for storage of files, ill be doing a lot of video editing, both using clips and from gaming footage so need the space and multiple drives to speed up the whole process. Ideally I'd want an enclosure I can exchange the hdd's for sata ssd's later on and that don't have a limit on the hdd capacity - I dont know much about running hdd's externally so Im open to suggestions outside of what IVe stated above, I've heard usb enclosure with uasp could that be a route I should consider?

edit - I'm running two hdd's so the external enclosure needs to be able to hold both or be cheap enough that I can buy two of, intend to swap out for two external sata ssd's later.

e.g.https://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-comUSB-SATA-Drive-Adapter-Cable-Black/dp/B00HJZJI84 < two of these? or ideally an adapter with multiple lead

my hdd's are 3.5" ones afaik.

I'm UK based, not ordering from US sorry, and budget is super tight.

I did find this on amazon though - https://www.amazon.co.uk/ORICO-External-Enclosure-Case-Drive/dp/B0719Q6CTY

It just needs to hold two hdd's, no more.

okay so i have a little bit of an update -

found two hdd dual docks with UASP

Orico -

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Orico-Drive-Clone-Docking-Station/dp/B06XT3KZW9/ref=sr_1_13?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1545237158&sr=1-13&keywords=USB+3.0+Dual+Hard+Drive+Docking+Station+with+UASP+for+2.5+%2F+3.5in+HDD

Wavlink -

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wavlink-External-Docking-Station-Functions/dp/B01H7D5W4G/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1545237158&sr=1-4&keywords=USB+3.0+Dual+Hard+Drive+Docking+Station+with+UASP+for+2.5+%2F+3.5in+HDD

I currently have two external back up drives also

My HDD's are really meant for animation files, video clips, audio clips, and large collections of files (not software).

One HDD to read files from, other to write to - will these hdd docks slow down the process and if so, by how much?

also should i consider using the external backup drives to read/write to? my guess is no.
