reinstall windows on SSD after mobo change

NathanielCE

I'm about to upgrade my motherboard and CPU. When I do so, I want to install windows onto my ssd instead of my hhd, but I haven't found any helpful tutorials online. Is there anyway I could install windows from my PC onto a usb, format my hard drive, and use my usb as a boot drive? If not, how could I reinstall windows after the upgrade without having to buy it again?
Thanks!

As long as you have the activation code you can create a boot drive here, go into the UEFI, and boot from the USB.  After that, you should be good.

What if I have. Digital license key assosiated with my Microsoft account?

Well, you will have to transfer it to the other PC.

Thanks!
