I don't believe so, though I could be mistaken.  HBM2 is just stooooopid-expensive.  Also, the Titan V is the full Volta V100 GPU, which always costs... more.

I'm curious if there's another driver coming, "Optimized for the Titan RTX, yo!" or not.  The driver information for 417.35 was changed yesterday to include the "TItan RTX" in its list of cards.  But the driver is still the same one from 12 December.

I'm keen to find out how well the cards do under water and with a nice little OC.  But the physical power mods are waaay beyond my comfort level.  I don't suppose you'd consider playing around with them un-modded but under water first?

 

Yes, I realize that means peeling the blocks off when it's time to do the shunt mod.

I mean maybe but it's a lot of work to do that lol.... I've had this rig opened up for a month already just waiting for various upgrade parts to show up, really dying to get it fully finished / assembled.

 

Currently still waiting on:
Titan RTX cards to upgrade

new Cablemod custom cables to match theme

 

and when that happens I need to drain the whole loop to replace the LED strip in the EK pump/res combo because the original one has shorted itself out after ~ 7 months..... then some final touches with cable management and hopefully that will be the last thing I do with this rig for 2+ years.

I know you're on the same set of reddit threads I am.  Someone did note that the wording on NVidia's page about Titan's NVLink is a bit different than the SLI wording for the 2080Ti's.

yeah I'm actually hoping that the Asus NVLink bridge I ordered will work - didn't want the Nvidia Titan RTX one because gold would clash with the black/green color scheme I have going on.

 

That being said 'real' NVLink on any card does support SLI, even on Quadro cards. I can't imagine that these would be less capable.

I still have a pipe dream of power modding and putting on water a pair of Quadro GV100's NVLinked together to see what two Voltas can do for games - given how much of a beast the Titan V was for its time.

Myself, I going to skip these Titans for the time moment.  Well, unless these new ones can push 4K even better, then I may get tempted later. 

Just 3440 x 1440 - I don't want to make the move to 4k until games can reliably maintain ~100 fps with all graphics settings maxed out.

Depending on the games, that's easy mode, even with today's 2080Ti cards in SLI.  I play Siege and Battlefield V and keep slamming into my soft-cap of 140FPS.  I don't have the deets cranked to max, but they'll maintain ++100 easily at max settings.

Wait, when did BF V start supporting multi GPU set up? During earlier tests, there was no FPS boost in that title neither from SLI, nor from Crossfire

It doesn't.  You have to enable it using the NVidia inspector.  Lots of resources out there to help; I even wrote something up here.

I hope you'll post up your results here.  I see you jousting with some of the weenies on the NVidia Reddit sub.  Personally I generally find that place to be a bit on the toxic side and try not to spend too much time.  I don't want to miss your results though.

I don't like arguing with anyone, but also don't like people spreading false info that might cause someone to make a regretful decision... maybe I should just leave Reddit alone lol

 

Don't worry I will be posting this weekend for sure - main question right now is whether or not a shunt mod will have any benefit. Worse case I can try Buildzoid's shunt bypass mod - the only concern is figuring how just how far Nvidia went to deal with people trying to by pass their power limits.

Sometimes I wish the Internet had an IQ barrier to entry.  Reddit wouldn't exist.  I've often called Reddit the sweaty ass crack of the Internet.  It can't be the ass hole of the Internet because: 4chan still exists.

I don't think it's a big deal.  Manufacturing f'up.  NVidia is making it right by sending an engineer directly to his studio.

Probably not, but it sure don't help public view when you see a $2500 card have issues straight from the factory.

yeah doesn't bode well especially for those of us who ordered 2. The disappointment level will be extreme if I just spent $5400 for lemons.

 

I guess the smart thing to do is test the cards out of the box to make sure there are no problems before modding and putting them on water eh?

I would, but I also wouldn't sweat what happened to Steve.  If we start seeing more real reports of it happening to other Titan owners (not imagined, by the Internet), then NVidia will have to do a thing about it.  But so far, this is a one-off.

Definitly, back when the first Titans drop, I had one die after one month of use.  Thankfully, it was still on air cooling, so no tearing down a loop.  My habit now is to test for a month on air before putting under water, but that is me of course.
