For those looking to build or upgrade this season, ASUS has been repeatedly setting their RX580 OC's to $122. First it was Amazon, now it's CDW. This is a great replacement to the RX570 in the "Just Game Build" for 2018.

Fired up PIA and switched to a US server and was able to access the website. What absolute trash website design if they can't even bother to display a "Sorry, this website is not available in your country" message. Do you have a link for the Amazon listing (or has it been removed?)

 

Good price though. 4GB VRAM is fine for 1080p gaming and this will outperform the 1050ti by a fair bit. Also cheaper than a 1050ti as well.

Dude, I was waiting until today to possibly buy that RX 570 cause...cause..lol...see this...get ready to hit buy and Im like...but what about muh free games.  LOL

$21 shipped - killed it for me.  Had it in the cart, went through the motions, soon as the cheapest shipping option of $21 showed up - well I can get the RX 580 8gb for $155 right now with 2 free games so I should just impulse buy that LOL:

I was like, if its $10 I feel good...but it was a hair over double that so I had to stick by my gut

There isn't really much of a difference between 4GB and 8GB when it comes to performance though. At that price, I'd just get it. It's way better than what you have now

Oh yeah, I almost got it, but for $21 shipped Im going to entertain the MSI RX 580 V1 currently @ $155 on newegg after rebates (plus games) etc (since the RX 4gb was $143 shipped seems like quite a bit of gains of RAM for such a little bit more investment lol)

Maybe in the fps department but when you're trying to achieve higher individual graphic settings, more VRAM is very beneficial. Depends on the game.

Mostly only for high res texture packs. Which, let's be honest, you likely won't be using on a mid tier card anyway.

Eh, with CES this close it makes more sense to wait, especially if you can get the same performance for a significant amount less.

If anything, the RX580 will only drop even more when the prices are revealed.

Its horrible for thermals agreed 100% - and I would not entertain putting it in my Ryzen rig because its not nearly as thermal controlled as my FX rig is which is where I would put it (I game 1600x900, wife on the Ryzen rig games @ 2k on an ACER 144hz monitor so to replace that GPU I really need to get into 1070ti land so I am utilizing the entire PC what I would call appropriately - though I am honestly amazed at what that old R7 can do in 2k LOL.  Battlefield 5 is low settings, but she gets 45-60 FPS with no dips lower than that)

 

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I hate this part.  And Ive literally been doing this on getting a GPU since I built the Ryzen rig last year.

Yes, high res texture packs, exactly my point. You won't be able to use them on a 3-4GB GPU while you can on a 6-8GB GPU. Not only that, with more VRAM, like I said you get to higher more individual graphic settings. It definitely depends on the game but certain GPU's benefit certain games in a noticeable way. I remember this being an issue when I had a GTX 1060 3GB in a lot of the games I would play. Once I upgraded to a 1060 6GB, I was able to bump up more significant settings such as shadow quality, reflections, distance scaling, ambient occlusion, anti-aliasing, etc, etc. You'd be surprised what people want to do with their mid-tier GPU's. And in a nutshell, this is what going with the higher VRAM GPU is for.

Go into 1070 land and just OC it to 1070 ti land. Got mine brand new and still sealed in box for $290 with free shipping a good 6 months ago from eBay. Things have changed dramatically since then with all the mining dying down and what not but it's still very possible to get a brand new 1070 on eBay at a huge discount. Just make sure to buy from the right sellers and always remember to communicate heavily before buying. It's a perfect time to bid on one right now too...

 

Brand New EVGA GTX 1070 for $262.00 sold just 2 days ago. You could choose to just resell it if you wish.
