Do those parts run great together? Compatibility?

hi,

i already have vega 64 and i want to upgrade other parts whic are i7 4790, hyperx 16GB ddr3 as im starting to struggle while gaming on my 2560x1080 monitor.

i think of getting

ryzen 5 2600

asus tuf b450 gaming plus

16GB (8x2) ballistix sport lt, number attached.

i read that dual channel bandwidth for them is around 32GBs which is low compared  to similar ram, can i overclock them with ryzen as i read they are xmp compatible with intel only.

are the rams compatible and runs well with the cpu, gpu and board? dimm, udimm, buffered, unbuffered...etc

are the rams good enough? or hyperx fury ddr4 2400mhz?

thanks

I'm not convinced that's an upgrade especially in gaming workloads. Perhaps in productivity workloads yes but it doesn't sound like you are looking for that. (Random video I found on YT as a source https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9wp9fomV04)

It looks fine to me. Just update your bios and install the chipset drivers and so on and then you can run your RAM on 3000mhz, i dont think the will run stock on 3000mhz. More like on 2400. But you can enable that easy in bios. And dont turn on XMP. If your not using a aftermarket cooler. Sometimes it can heat up your cpu like crazy. On mine it went on 90° in battlefield.

that's a side grade from the 4790 at best, it may even feel slower, go 8700 or wait for zen 2.

then why im having bad gaming performance in most games? i tried everything in the book and still bad performance, some say its due to low memory bandwidth.

what games are u playing, some games just need more cores, but if you upgrade from a 4790 or anything sandy bridge and up to a ryzen with slow memory, you are gonna be disappointed.

all of those games need more than 4 cores, so yes, i guess if you only play those games i guess it's worth it, i still suggest waiting for zen 2 and put those games on backlog for now.

but is it normal to have 50% usage on the i7 4790 and get bad performance?

yes, some games are badly optimized, odyssey is the most demanding game atm, bf5 needs 12 threads or 8 cores minimum imo. and that game is actually optimized very well, coh can use more than 4 cores, bo4 is slightly less stressful than bfv, basically all the game u listed likes threads ?
