Martin1999
 Share

My gpu works fine in The second PCI slot but wont Even send any signal in The first pci slot, The one that The motherboard manual literally recommends you to use? Im seeing som stuttering in games so im thinking The slot position might be The problem? This is a Brand new mobo by the way, any help or tip is much appriciated  ?

would help if you listed the parts, but it could be a case of the GPU not going into the first slot properly because something on the motherboard hits the card, preventing it from fully inseting into the first slot.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

have you looked at the slot, making sure that the clip is in and that none of the gold from the connector is visible? that motherboard has a fairly large chipset heatsink so im thinking that could be interfearing with the graphics card

Is this plastic piece in the way?  I just read about someone having issues with seating their GPU correctly because of it.  Are you sure the card is fully seated, use monkey grips just not gorilla grips to put it all the way in

Well either way, a 1070 will perform the exact same in other slot. But I’d still try to figure it out. Got a pic of the setup and card seated?

I zoomed far in and I can see gold, which would be close to that plastic piece - is it bumping into that plastic piece on the mobo?  Im NOT saying its not in, just did see some gold showing possibly?

Seems to be screwed into the case fine. So it’s prolly seated right. Is your ram in all the way? Just looks odd.

Id prolly reseat the cpu. Do you happen to have another pci device to test?

Hold the card in tight, and tighten down the screw tightly if this is the case at all to see if the connection is an issue at all (doing it while case is on its side is easiest)
