Convert my old Samsung 840 Evo into a Backup Drive

I got an old 250gb 840 Evo and no space for it in my system anymore. I was thinking about getting one of these SSD cases and connect it to my Mainboard over the USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 port to use it as a second Backup Drive.

Is it a good idea and/or worth it?

Any experience is appreciated!
