W3670 vs X5675

Let’s just say my motherboard was overzealous and pumped 1.45v into my CPU despite my setting being 1.42v and I can’t get my usual overclock and I’m pretty sure my CPU is fxxked, especially the IMC.

so I browsed local listings and saw X5675 and W3670s going for $40. I know the W series has unlocked multiplier but what does that translate to in overclocking?

Not all Xeon W chips are unlocked. Afaik only the 3680 and 3690 are. This doesn't translate to much in overclocking as the majority of the OC will be done via BCLK overclocking. Bins are probably similar, since the only difference is 1 way and 2 way multiprocessing.
