More than 25% of all humans live in distinct dictatorships. Is this alarming to anyone else?

The civilized world should probably not support them...

But, who is the "civilized world"? The West does the same things talked about in this thread. So, how can we withdraw our support from the West?

And the West finances the world's dictatorships (which Russia is not one of). Notably the US, finances around 73% of the world's dictatorships.

Time for a new search engine then

There is startpage. Great for privacy and exactly as good as google because it uses google :)

Computer users fall into two groups:
those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail.

On public computers, sure ( although public computers bring their own security/privacy risks), but just getting a different internet connection doesn't mean Google won't track you with cookies and browser fingerprinting.

You can set the browser to block all cookies and adblock extensions can block site fingerprinting as well.

or

Clear the browser before disconnect from VPN.

Can they though? I've tried a lot of different blockers and never been anything but unique in the eyes of EFF's Panopticlick browser fingerprint tester.

Also stop formatting your posts in that annoying way.

UBlock Origin can though. Here is an example of someone tried to block all Facebook tracking and fingerprinting on reddit.

We live in dangerous times.

Although to put a positive spin on it, with countries taking a more cloak and dagger/electronic approach to international survival and maintaining control, we can fear less about a physical 3rd world war.
