Upgrade or Buy a new one ?

Kritikal

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum but I've been watching Linus videos for a while now.

I have a 7-year old pc and I need advice on whether I should upgrade my gpu or get a new desktop instead. My current specs just doesn't allow me to play CoD:Blackout or any new high-res game at all.

This is my current specs.

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K
GPU: AMD HD 6950
SSD: Intel 320 Series 120GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB
RAM: 16GB (4GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair Vengeance)
MBD: Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3

PSU:  600w

For the GPU, I'm looking to get to the new Nvidia RTX 2080. i know there's a huge bottleneck but I do have plans to build a new pc much later next year. Or, should I get something else instead?

For a new desktop, I was thinking of getting the CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8060A5 Gaming PC from Amazon. Specs: Intel i5-8400 2.8GHz, 8GB DDR4, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB, 120GB SSD, 1TB HDD, WiFi & Win 10. Same price range as the RTX2080. OR, should I get something else ?

Thanks for your feedback.

Sorry if this post is in the wrong subforum.

keep the case hdd and ssd

have 512 g ssd for additional storage so you can have a bunch of fast loading games

1070ti and r5 2600 will easily beat the pc you linked

Edit: didnt see budget was 1000 give me a min

For a normal like me, I have no idea which of the two builds to get. Thus, I stretched my budget a bit and combined both builds. I have no idea if these parts will work together. smh

Please fix this. Thanks.
