Macintosh LC II MOD - Looking for suggestions

Hey Everyone,

I am looking for some advice on a mod that I am just starting out on. I got a cool old school Mac pc and decided to build a gaming system inside of it. So far, I have taken out all the old parts and cut away a few pieces of plastic on the inside of it to get it ready for a new build. So I would like to ask your help in the next phase of this build.

Specifically, I am in the planning phase of putting a good 1080p gaming pc inside on an old school Mac LC II (also know as the pizza box). I would like to ask your advice on:

1. Are the parts listed below good for a m-itx gaming pc?

2. What changes would you suggest?

3. What cool/crazy mods would you suggest to make this case even more cool? (For example, I am going to use the Floppy disk port in the front as an On/Off button)

Here is a picture of the case I am working with. (I have 310mm x 295mm x 41mm on the inside to fit in a pc)

(Please forgive the goofy pictures, this is my first time attempting anything in a non standard case :P)

Also, not sure how well the Engine 27 will fare in that tiny box. A Noctua LH-9i might be better, although at 37mm it'll be close. Perhaps a few holes drilled above the cooler for extra airflow?

Yeah, this is one of the things I am questioning. I was trying to get away with not cutting the top of the case to preserve the original look of the pc.

I am hoping the two fans I have in the case with create some good air flow that will blow past the motherboard and exhaust out the back, but airflow is one of the things I need help with the most. Not matter what it’s gonna be a negative air pressure system, but it’s easy to open up and clean. Also, I intend to use this as a portable pc for “esports parties” in my area.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah keeping it pristine would be ideal of course. Maybe try and position the CPU cooler under/close to the factory vent cutout in the case.
