What rig will you bring to the LAN party?

TRITIUMNITR0X

Its a bit early to say, might have an upgrade by then, but i'd bring my 8700k and 1080ti in my corsair 750D case. Would probably pull it down and take the components on board with me and chuck the case in the check in.

Dang, makes me wish even more that I was going.

If I was going to the LAN party, I'd probably bring one of my retro systems and play Pinball on Windows XP, honestly. That, or my laptop.

If I do go, which I really hope to, I'll be building a mITX system in a case like the Node 202. Not going to lock the specs in right now, but probably 3rd gen Ryzen if its out, and something equivalent to the 1050 Ti or 1060 from either AMD or NVidia (or hell Intel if their card(s) are released by the time I am building it).

I'm thinking about buying the components to build a PC from Memory Express and then building it there a day or two before the event kicks off.  Or I'll bring my Hades Canyon NUC.

Currently the PC (my HTPC in an Evolv Shift) has an i3 7100, R9 290 and 8GB RAM

Before LTX I'll be upgrading it to an i5 or i7 depending on what shows up second hand and will temporarily move the 1070 and RAM from my main desktop into it.

Not bringing my main gaming PC due to the size and cost of doing so.

  • 1 month later...

I decided to build a new gaming LAN rig to bring. Was lucky enough to get some help from the Louqe guys and they are sending me a Ghost S1 with 2 x large tophats, so i'm going to pack it full with the following:

i9-9900k @ 5ghz (silicon lottery-delidded)

Strix Z390-I Gaming ITX board

Evga RTX 2080ti black

Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 2 x 16gb for 32 Gb total

512gb 960 Pro Samsung M.2

and a custom loop for both cpu and gpu with dual rads top and bottom, hence the 2 x large top hats.

I'll put a build up when all the parts arrive.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good travel keyboard and mouse?

If all the pieces fall in to place for me to be able to go I'm planning to bring my Blue Beast desktop (AMD A8-7600 on an ASRock Killer Fatal1ty board + Sapphire Radeon Fury Nitro) with me, unless I decide its too much of a pain and then I'll just bring my kinda wimpy laptop (HP Envy x360 with a Ryzen 5 2500U + Vega integrated) with a cooling pad...

I think I'm going to try my hand at my first Hardline custom water loop on a Ryzen 7 2700x 2070 system. We will see if that materializes but if it does there is going to be a couple instapacks inside for the car ride from Iowa

I spy a CRU dataport on there, a Rosewill USB/card reader and you have a very similar fan controller to mine :D also - 40TB? how much does that sucker weigh!?
