GPU running at low utility with 1 hour+ TPF, CPU running fine

Hey all,

Just got into the folding scene and trying to figure some stuff out. When I first installed FAH it would not start a GPU project and was stuck in READY while trying to repeat/start a project. Reinstalled FAH and now it is running the GPU instead of being stuck in Ready mode. The problem is the speed at which it is running.

FAH is set to full, but the GPU is sayin 1.11+ days (sometimes up to 5 days) and not even touching my GPU utilization. The Estimated TPF (time per fold?) is bounding anywhere from an hour to ~15 mins. I'm using CUPID HWMonitor to check loads, therms, etc. and the GPU is running around 8-12%. What is going on here? Will this correct itself or is there a setting I need to change?

What GPU and OS are you running on?  The fact that the GPU slot shows 'UNSUPPORTED' leads me to believe that something isn't configured correctly.  There's a GPUs.txt configuration file that the client uses to verify your GPU is supported, so that might be a first place to check.

Be sure to QUOTE or TAG me in your reply so I see it!

I see you are running a GTX 1080Ti - Nice.

The fact it is showing up as unsupported likely means you have a driver issue. Usually this can be fixed by doing a clean install of a current driver (Select "Custom Install" the "Perform a Clean Install") and then re-install the folding at home software (it detects the GPU on installation) but keep your data so you don't have to re-install your userid and team.

You will also want to request a Passkey as it will dramatically increase your points once you have completed a few Work Units (WUs).

I see you've created your own team. Please consider joining the Linus Tech Tips Team (223518) and folding with us. You can still set your own preferences as to which cause you fold for.

You can monitor your progress on the Stanford site: https://stats.foldingathome.org/donor/8972627

but most people prefer to use the much nicer stats at Extreme Overclocking but you haven't accumulated enough points yet to be picked up by them.
