Black Screen When Pushing Graphics Card

I recently build my first system and everything seemed to be working fine but when I play games that really puch the GPU (GTA 5 and Dauntless have done it so far) after about 10-15 the system black screens. When it black screens the system seems to still be running (fans are still running, lighting still going) but there is no output of any kind (audio or video). It doesn't seem to be a tempreture issue as gpu Z said the gpu only got to 76C max.

Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 Special Edition

G.Skill Ripjaws 4 series 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2133

WD Blue 500 GB M.2-2280

MSI B450M Mortar Titantium

SilverStone Essential ET550-HG 550W

For some reason I feel like it's a power supply issue, SilverStone isn't the best known for their reliability (about a 30% RMA rate from my experience). Do you have a separate PSU you can test with? 

 

Full load for your system (100% CPU and GPU usage) would push about 370w of power leaving only 170w of headroom for your PSU (it's rated to a max of 540w on the 12v rail). 

 

In the GPU support list for your PSU it states it can supply 2*RX 570 but it leaves the RX 580 out of the list for your PSU. I'm wondering if the 8pin isn't capable of the 125w needed for the RX 580. 

 

Download MSI Afterburner and lower your power limit to 80% and see if it still happens. If it doesn't you know your PSU isn't upto powering that RX 580
