CSGO @ Medium/High getting 40fps with 970?

Saiyan

I have a 970 with a 4790k and 8gb of ram and am only getting between 30-50fps on CSGO. I get 100+ on overwatch just fine but CSGO is running terribly,

Let's start the checklist.

-yes my monitor is plugged into my GPU

-yes my GPU is updated

-vertical sync is turned off.

-anti aliasing is off

-motion blur disabled

CSGO is pretty CPU dependent so lets start there. What are your CPU temps as well as usage during gameplay? Also, did you turn on multi-core rendering in the CSGO graphics options? Also, unless theres a reason you play on medium/high, you should just go ahead and put the game on max settings. A single GTX 580 can run it maxxed out 200+ fps, so a 970 could do it at 500mhz all day. I've run into games *cough* GTAV *cough* where turning down the graphics settings actually made my fps WORSE by lessening the GPU load, and increasing the CPU load via higher fps, thereby creating a bottleneck.

CPU: INTEL Core i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz - Cooling: NZXT Kraken X61 - Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X SLI - RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares 2400mhz - GPU: AMD Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury 4G - Case: Phanteks P350X - PSU: EVGA 750GQ - Storage: WD Black 1TB - Fans: 2x Noctua NF-P14s (Push) / 2x Corsair AF140 (Pull) / 3x Corsair AF120 (Exhaust) - Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red - Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

Is that happening since last big update?

I just installed it today since it went f2p so I'm not sure if it's been common. I looked up other people having the issue and their problems seem to be related to settings issues.

Since introducing BR mode game is fucked up, I went from 200+ fps to 70.
