well, I have to switch my mb because he is half dead, the audio ports and the front USB 3  does not work

and I am switching my ram cause I have 2 sticks of 4 and I don't want to switch to quad channel.

thanks for your quick response.

still worth to stay with lga1150? i mean it is around 100+ USD cheaper but from the other hand ryzen 7 is more powerful

Then sell what you have and go get a cheap AM4 setup.

That's in USD so just change it to whatever country you're from

hello, guys

first thing sorry about my English.

I am working about upgrading my aging gaming pc,i am trying to inevst the least i can and get the most bang for my buck.

my old system:

MB: gigabyte h81d2v

intel core i5 4590

amd shppair hd 7870 xt with boost

550w Antec power supply

8gb ramaxl DDR 3 1600mha ram

ss p80 micro atx case

for now, I have upgraded the case and the GPU

to Antec p8

and amd rx 580 pulse

I got the GPU second hand for 160$

I don't know if I should get the 4970k/non k or the amd ryzen 7 1700x

i am going to switch both my ram and mb

the lga 1150 mb+16gb ram+4790k will cost me around 455$ or if i will just get the 4790 425$

the am4 mb+16gb ram+ryzen 7 will cost me 570

again i am trying to invest the least and get the most bang for my buck.

will the ryzen 7 make a big diffrnce in my gaming preformence?

also what do you guys think about crossfire,in the far futher does it worth getting secound amd rx 580?

thanks in advance

my current home setup:cpu:amd ryzen 2700 // cpu cooler :aigo 120mm aio // mobo:gigabyte ab350-gaming 3 // ram:crosair vengance 8*4 // gpu:amd rx 5700 //

tower:antec p8 // psu:antec HCG 650w.

my current work setup: cpu:intel xeon x5675 // cpu cooler :generic 6 copper pipe // mobo: x58 lga 1366 chines motherboard // ram: 32GB ecc // gpu:amd r7 260x //

psu:antec 550w.

my current home server setup:cpu:intel xeon x5690 // cpu cooler :aigo 120mm aio // mobo: x58 lga 1366 chines motherboard // ram:crucial 8*2 // gpu:amd rx 580 //

tower:antec p110 silent // psu:antec HCG 850w.

The cheapest route you can go because you already have the right motherboard and ram, is getting a used 4770 or 4790.

But if you can't get those for a good price used, then a full AM4 upgrade might be worth it and sell your old stuff.

if you are going to switch ram and board anyways it's completely pointless to stay in the LGA 1150 socket

and if you care about gaming only you could go with a ryzen 5 which will perform about the same

why? because it is an old socket?

you know you might have a point I didn't thought about the ryzen 5, but the 1600x is stronger than my i5 4590 and it is cheaper than the ryzen 7

and let's say I will be able to get another rx580 8gb in 2 years for 100$ will it be worth for it gaming performance?

thank you very much, man I really appreciate that.

I think I'll go with that.

If you're just gaming though, I would get the 1600 or 2600.

because it's dumb since you are going to spend a lot of money on mobo and ram, and you'll still be stuck in an old socket so you'll need to drop more money in the near future

if you want to stay on lga 1150 keep your mobo and ram
