Recommend me a Laptop for Christmas, Will ONLY be used to stream 4K content

Looking to purchase a Laptop as a christmas gift to my parents as their previous laptop is way to slow and is unable to stream in 4K.

 

Looking to spend like at most ~$500?

 

Hopefully less if possible.

 

What the laptop will be used for:

 

Streaming device, It will stream content in 4K quality to a TV and not on the laptop itself.

 

Any tips?

Just wondering, why a laptop specifically and not another device designed to stream content? Would be more cost effective to use a device like a Fire TV stick for ~£50.

Doesn't support all services they use + they want a laptop in the few cases they sit infront of the TV but need a computer so they don't have to move

Sooo..... An HTPC is still perfect for this..... You can get those for like 400$ or less.
