7700k OC'd to 4.8ghz... only hitting 4.4 under load?

Ai Tweaker, Load CPU 5G OC Profile

There is no such option, or any option to load profiles, in Ai Tweaker in the most recent revision of the Z170 Pro Gaming BIOS.

I have an option to load profiles in the Tool section of the BIOS, but only from USB stick. There don't appear to be any included.

Looking at your other post, there is also no "Power saving and performance mode" setting in the UEFI for this board under Ai Tweaker.

Well I have a Z370i Asus board, so I'm sure some things have changed.  What about the EZ Performance mode?  Or EZ System Tuning.  For me it's F11.

EZ Tuning Wizard exists. It settles the system at 4.5ghz. But I'm pretty sure it just does it by changing the BCLK frequency, as that and the Vcore (which it switches to Auto) are the only things that seem to change compared to my settings when I use it.

I don't know if this means anything, but I installed Intel Extreme Tuning Utility to see if it offered any insights, and it shows the multiplier with 4 cores active as 44, and won't let me increase it.

I FOUND THE PROBLEM! Well, I found a solution.

I re-flashed the latest BIOS (the same one I was already using), set the defaults, booted, reapplied my OC settings, booted up again, and now I'm at 4.8ghz.

It seems I wasn't doing anything wrong and there was nothing everybody making suggestions was missing... something somewhere just got F'd up in the BIOS update and re-flashing it on top of itself fixed it.

Thanks to everybody who took time to offer ideas.
