Asus Strix Rog H370-F Gaming with i3-8100 and Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000MHz?

Hi

I just ordered;

  • Asus Strix Rog H370-F Gaming mobo.
  • Intel i3-8100 processor
  • Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2 x 8GB at 3000MHz

The memory module limit on the motherboard is 2600MHz, and Asus' website even says;

 **DDR4 2666MHz and higher memory modules will run at max. 2666MHz on Intel 8th gen 6-core or higher.

The i3-8100 is a 4-core processor. Does anyone know what speed I can hope to get on the memory modules with this setup, and more importantly, will it even work? ?

Any input is appreciated!

Thanks, Tom

I received feedback to my query from support at Asus today. They said the Intel i3-8100 chip itself would limit the speed of the memory modules to 2400MHz, but that the 3000MHz modules should work without any hassle at that speed. Will update with real-world result when build is done. ?‍?
