VALVe Updates CS:GO - Battle Royale incoming.

Princess Luna

I like ,(not love), br genre and I told to a friend like a month ago that if valve achieves a br game with source engine on csgo it will be better than anyone and a good choice because all br lacks what counter has, fluid gameplay, and now valve is trying and people bitch about it. You need to pay to get prime mm, so cheaters will be the same or less.

I think that Im not the only that playing a br game like pubg or cod thought , if this game had the same feeling shooting like csgo I would pwn you all...

If people followed, this was in the works for a while though. Also not unexpected too. Also it's CS gameplay so it's definitely better than those non fps BR games.

The f2p I guess they're confident in their anti-cheat heh.

Prime matchmaking status will be purchasable only now, that's how they expect to keep cheating under control despite becoming F2P

sounds kinda like a shitty solution. Says on their site you can't use services like voip numbers, skype, etc. I get it, but it's kinda shitty to people that are in less-than-first-world-countries that this game is popular with. Not everyone has access to a cell number even if they have a cell phone and basic computer.

I love this model and I really hope it works. I don't know why it took this long for Valve to come up with it. The whole "link your cell phone" method wasn't that great because it's really easy to get free phone numbers these days. Valve really should take it a step further though because $20 isn't that much.

I'd love to see a subscription service for a few dollars a month and the longer you're subscribed the higher the tier you're placed in with other people who've also subscribed (read: invested). If you spend $20 for prime status and cheat in the first game and get banned you're only out $20, but if you pay for the subscription and cheat a year down the road you're out however much money and the chance of you ever playing with those players again in that tier will be gone.

I blame the CSGO community for it

I don't know if you follow Youtube but they created a community battle royale mode and so probably Valve picked it up from there as well it was 2 years ago I think

and their attempt at collectable card games isn't doing so good.

Don't follow trends, specially when you are so late to the party V, kay?

Just do what you do best and focus on Proton, and giving me more tools to shape up my featured page. Please and Thank You

does that mean large maps on csgo? kinda interested tbh... ^^

A bit larger but not that large. This is still on the Source 1 engine, although it has been updated a lot it will still choke on big maps.

To truly do big maps they would have to port it to Source 2. Which tbh I don't think Valve will dare to do. Because the physics engine is different, the lighting engine, the particle effects etc. All those changes, especially the physics; the CS community would just freak out. Because competitive players get so specialized at doing things a certain way they would hate the change. That consistency is more important to the CS community than things like Vulkan support or large maps.

Recently when Valve wanted to modernize the UI for CS:GO they just backported the UI subsystem from Source 2 to Source 1.

I really hope Valve makes prime cost more. $15 is so cheap for a cheater to buy prime and fuck with dedicated players. People may disagree with me, but if someone is dedicated to csgo like me I would rather have prime cost more. Not $60 like lots of games but more than $15 to stop cheaters from getting prime. I also hope they tweak the issues that AMD ryzen and vega users are having. My shitty piledriver cpu seems to be immune to the issues.

agreed. It'll actually destroy movement based gameplay like scoutzknivez (flying scoutsmen) and lots of community servers. Maybe they'll mod the engine like how the quake engine became gold source which was in hl1, but thats a lot of time to change an entire engine thats already been made. If they ever make another CS, they might use source 2.

That does make since, but there are people like me who like playing matchmaking. Theres also a certain level of skill that most players enter at to play ESEA. Last time I played faceit it was kinda toxic but I might have gotten unlucky with my team.

the csgo br is pretty unique from the other br's. As a player of csgo for 3+ years since I was 12 I still recommend it despite its cheater issues. Buy the prime version of the game, though.
