gtx 1070 - only in idle?

Hi people,

Recently, i did a clean installation of windows 10. I only connected the ethernet cable after i installed the latest drivers which i had downloaded to an external hdd. All this to avoid windows 10 to search for the drivers.

The problem is that i noticed this thing happening to my computer only when it's idle and the screen turns off. Be it on a tab of google chrome or before i log into my microsoft account. This does not happen if i leave the computer on a game or if i turn off the option to auto turn off monitor after x minutes(i left it to do that after 5h because of this).

The problem in question is presented in the screenshot. Any tips? i'll probably reinstall the drivers after i come back home.

The full build is: Ryzen 1600 3.75 @ 1.35V, MSI B350 Bazooka, 2x8gb Gskills Ripjaws V @2933, MSI GTX 1070 Armor OC(+115 core clock, +315 memory clock), Seasonic S12II 520W.

Does it stay this way after you sign in, or after changing display settings?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k (won) - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Linux Proliant ML150 G6:

Dual Xeon X5560 - 24GB ECC DDR3 - GTX 750 TI - old Seagate 1.5TB HDD - dark mode Ubuntu (and Win7, cuz why not)

How many watts do I need? Seasonic Focus thread, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

It stays that way when i sign in, and after changing display settings like changing the resolution to 1768x992p the display looses connection and i have to restart.

Edit: Just arrived, set the turn off screen to 1 minute to replicate as fast, same thing happened on the desktop screen. Tried to switch the DP cable to another port and this still happened. Now i've been trying while i'm switched to HDMI instead of DP and nothing has happened so far.
