GTX 1080's soldout?

SlarmsRipper

I'm curious as to why 1080's are sold out most anywhere online? I had a build planned using 1080's but I checked NewEgg, Amazon, the big name websites, and they're sold out. PCPartPicker doesn't have any pricing info on just about all 1080's. I'm curious and slightly irritated ?

Because it's an old card. Try looking for used ones, those should be cheap. If you really want to buy it brand new you should just get an RTX 2070 instead.

Ryzen 2700, 16GB, GTX 1080, 1440p165hz

They stopped manufacturing the 10 series, so their new stock is limited. You'll be having to making trips to local stores to try to find a new 1080. Even than the price will be marked up though.

I mean I could look at something better but I don't hard core game everything at 4k. I just want something slightly beefy that'll get the job done for a couple years. Plus being a college student limits you on money haha

So getting 1080’s would be the cheaper options?

Well the main reason is that Nvidia is not manufacturing that GPU anymore, so once retailers and suppliers run out of them...they are gone.
