help me pick a case that fits 7 gpu

Dictionary

i need a case that can fit a 7x 1070 gpu

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P4-5173-KR

I'm trying to set up 5x5 1080p 27" monitor wall setup.

from My research, I can see a 1070 can do 2x 4k monitors, 3x 2k monitors, or 4x 1k monitors.  So I decide to go with 25x 1k monitors.

1 video card will output 4 monitors. so to do 25 monitors, i need 7 video cards.

if you have better solution, please pm or post.

-note: putting 5x5 monitors to run as 1 screen.

How will you find a motherboard that can support 7 GPUs, and SLI doesn't support 7-way GPU.

Well those are dual slot GPUs so they'd block the GPU next to them so you can only fit 4.

That doesn't change what he (darpy) said though, SLI doesn't support 7 GPUs. Are you trying to run a render farm? Darpy is right also, you'd only be able to fit 4 actual cards.

you could use PCIE Riser cables (like https://www.amazon.com/Lesozoh-Extender-Extension-Flexible-Card-25cm/dp/B078X7ZQ9C/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1544066870&sr=8-7&keywords=Pcie+riser+cable) so the GPUs dont block the slots (you can still use that motherboard you picked) and you have more options on where to put the graphics cards (you can even chain multiple cables together, linus made a video showing that it doesnt hurt performance)

Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen R7 3700X @4.4Ghz, GPU: Gigabyte RX 5700 XT, RAM: 32 GB (2x 8GB Trident Z Royal + 2x 8GB TForce Vulkan Z) @3000Mhz, Motherboard: ASRock B550m Steel Legend, Storage: 1x WD Black 1Tb NVMe (boot) + 1x Samsung 860 QVO 1Tb SSD (storage), Case: Thermaltake Core V21, Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

ive seen it. I want it bigger.

Well step 1 is making sure you have the parts to power everything, so make sure you have a proper powersupply(s).

All in all though, once that's taken care of, honestly i think you'd probably just want to use a mining frame, and just use it as a GPU hub since they're built for lots of GPUs anyways. just get PCIE extenders for the motherboard and you should be good to go, as long as you don't mind the weird setup, because it won't look pretty to the average eye.

I thought so, because there isnt a motherboard that can physically fit all 7 gpu, unless i go with the server case.

that being said, a custum 7 gpu with PCIE Riser cables extentions will be the case.

hmm

But then again the space between mobo pcie slots and gpus is none so mounting the 7 gpus with extenders in a case is impossible.

EVGA 1600 should be enough. Yup I agree mining frame is a solution or even a server case.

If you need a case for 7 GPUs, this Rosewill case should work for you.

Though if you're going to hook up screens... that might make it difficult...you may have to run an extension to the side of the case or something.

Its difficult to find a server case with a large amount of expansion slots.

Does access need to be from the rear?

What about this one?

Looks like if you take the front fan mounts off (3 screws on each plate), you could have access to the GPUs

That would be my last suggestion... 7 GPUs takes up a LOT of PCI space!

as far as i'm aware, those types of cases use case fans lining one or both ends of the case, almost like an advanced version of a regular case fan config.

Yup nice one... The airflow without the 3 fans will suffer.

You can run the bracket for 5 mid fans instead of the front fans.
