Afterburner not detecting my GPU

I just finished my first build and wanted to use a program to monitor my FPS and temperatures. I downloaded MSI Afterburner but it is only showing intel UHD graphics 630 as an option not my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080. I can see both under display adapters in computer management and my drivers are up to date. I have already uninstalled afterburner and reinstalled.

Did you plug your video cable into your motherboard rather than the graphics card?

Then you probably gonna need to DDU in safe mode and reinstall the nVidia drivers fresh new.

That might actually be it, I don't think Afterburner reads the iGPU any other way even when enable.

No they graphics card is working properly in game

Maybe im not understanding what you mean. This is my first build so I might not know which cable your talking about

Your video cable should be connected to the video card not your motherboard.

Both the motherboard and graphics card have video out connectors. You should be using the outputs on the graphics card and not the ones on the motherboard, or else it will use the integrated graphics on your cpu.

The build guide I fallowed had me install the graphics card into the mother board and screw it into place and then the only cable that went into the GPU is the power suppy. Am I just missing a cable completely.

Its the cable that goes from your computer to your display, the one that sends video signal to your monitor. HDMI, Display Port, VGA, DVI - those ones

I didnt even have both cables from the power supply plugged into the graphics card now both displays are plugged into it snd it is powered properly. Thank you all!
