moving a HDD with OS to a new system

I was wondering if it was possible to move my HDD with windows 10 installed on it to a new machine? I've seen a few posts that say it should work for going inlet to inlet or AMD to AMD. But I'm going from Intel to AMD and i haven't seen anything on that.

Why not a fresh install of Windows? It's very easy to do.

Link your Windows 10 activation key to your Microsoft account, download the W10 ISO onto a bootable USB, and do a fresh install of Windows on your new PC. Then login to your Microsoft account on your new PC and you're done.

As for files/apps, back them up onto a USB or HDD, and transfer them to your new PC.
