Please suggest laptop for my requirements.

Hi all,

I needed a laptop for professional programming ... programs should compile faster, sql fast r/w.

Also below things should be present.

1. Good keyboard (rgb doesn't matter) (MUST)

2. Good GPU (when home: will connect two monitors for sure) (MUST)

3. 4 or More core CPU (should not be U series) (More threads better, as VM will also be used) (MUST)

4. GOOD cooling (<~80C at full load, both gpu nd cpu) (MUST)

5. Thin bezels (Optional)

6. Must have HDD installed or can be installed (MUST) (If dvd rom is there, i can replace with hdd, so that will also work)

7. External GPU support (MUST)

8. Long life i.e Durable (laptops like razor blade 15 have very bad reviews after 1 year usage) (MUST)

9. Good build quality (MUST)

10. Should not be Apple (MUST)

11. Should not be as ugly as alienware (MUST)

Things i don't care about:

1. Screen Refresh rate

2. Camera quality

3. Battery backup

4. Speaker sound

5. G-Sync

6. Screen color range

7. Touchscreen

I need more info

Where are you from? Budget? Any preference on weight and battery life? Also, why you want dGPU and TB3 at the same time?

are sager laptops durable?

I've had my Sager NP8651-S (Clevo P650SE) for over 3 years now, and hauled it back and forth to the middle east with me on multiple trips, it's been in a car accident (roll over) and survived (in a neoprene protective sleeve inside of a backpack). It basically runs 24/7 without issues... so I'd say yes, but its my only Clevo/Sager laptop so far.

Also, I didn't catch that you wanted both a good/powerful internal GPU and the ability to have an external GPU, for eGPUs it'd need Thunderbolt 3, so perhaps one of these other Clevo/Sager models would better suit you.

Thanks @H3llscr3am, appreciate your time.

@GeneXiS_X i need dgpu for working on emulators which are like vm and egpu for future upgradation purposes. Battery i don't mind, but weight should not be that much like alienwares.

no problem, as a side note, Clevo/Sagers use MXM format GPUs, so you can upgrade the internal GPU in the future. Also most chips are socketed, and can/could be upgraded too...

you can learn more about Clevo laptops and resellers here:

Don't opt for higher end GPU if you want better thermals. Also, 8th gen mobile chips run hot, you need to do undervolt and maybe repaste

Do manual RAM+storage upgrades if possible, cheaper
