Sorry, figured it out.

 

For some reason it was set to 8000 Hz (telephone quality) in Windows

I have the Samson Go Mic like this one

As you can see in the video, the sound quality is good, and if I connect my earphones to the deivice and listen in real time, it sounds crystal clear, just like in the videos.


However, if I listen through Windows "Sound" or record in OBS or anything like that, it sounds really muffled.

Of course I can't record via the speaker output on the microphone, so not sure how to solve this?
