My gpu is overheating ?

3 months back i built a gaming pc . When i used that for 2-3 weeks i noticed some heat on the glass (side pannel) . When i touch that i fell the heat(more heat) and when i removed it and touch the back panel of the gpu its over heat and cant touch it more than 5 secs (i'dont know is that a problem)and later a week when i was running gta v my pc suddenly turned off and when i checked my pc with a local pc expect . He removed the gpu and again inserted that suddenly a burn smell occurred and when he removed the gpu he noticed and told me that one of the gpu's mosfet(i dont know exactly the name)  has burned out and told me it need to be replaced .  So within 2 days i rushed to the store where i purchased it and they sent that for replacment(rma) but unfortunately i dont got a new gpu but instead got repaired the old one .after two days when gta v at max settings its degree gets between 60-65c degree and ac origins at max it gets between 70-70c degree as i have a glass side pannel . Intel Core 17-8700K 3.70 GHz Processor.

Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming WIFI Motherboard . 

G.skill 16GB (2x 8GB) 3000Mhz DDR4 Ram.

dude 70c is totaly fine for a gpu temp mine runs near 80c

the temp on the card is fine. the backplates get very hot as they are normally metal... and metal conducts heat.

this is the 2nd thread on backplate being hot (Why do people find it necessary to TOUCH the hot gpu? beyond me...) that ive seen recently... 

 

but yeah, the GPU is safe until like probably 90C+ 

 

(mine runs at 71C)

These temps are not too hot, a burned mosfet is a separate issue entirely. It's hot to a human, imagine a 70 degree day, hell on Earth. But to a semiconductor, it's fine.

as the others said, 70c is fine. If you're too worried, get MSI afterburner and creat a custom fan curve.

70C is perfectly fine for a GPU. My 1080ti runs at about 80 on max load.

That PC expert seems a little fishy... If he disconnected the power and got rid of the static on himself, the GPU shouldn't have a "burned" smell

Thanks guys i just readed about the heating issue in my GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming OC 11G. They too told about poor cooling and worst cooling fans in the gpu .(note: u mean that the green back of the gpu is metal so it produces more heat )

Dude my gpu doesn't have backplate anyway  Thank u . i just readed about the heating issue in my GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming OC 11G. Many too told about poor cooling and worst cooling fans in the gpu. ( Just touched the backside which i referred to is  the green side of the gpu )
